Why we need to think differently...
The Essential Eight framework recommends a set of mitigation strategies as a baseline for managing common cybersecurity risks. With mandates and guidance from the frameworks and programs such as the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and the Defence Industry Security Program (DISP), affected entities have been steadily investing in uplift programs that have come with numerous challenges. 2024 shows a sharp decline in the percentage of Commonwealth entities compliant with Maturity Level 2 requirements.
